Florida Token Society to Meet Saturday, March 20, 2004

Ocala, Florida

The Florida Token Society meeting will be on March 22, 2004, at the Freedom Public Library, 5870 SW 95th St., Ocala, FL  (352) 291-6040.

To get to the library take I-75 to Exit 68 this is Highway 200 (also known as College Rd). Go South West on Highway 200 approximately two miles to SW 60th Avenue. Go East on SW 60th Avenue (about 2.2 miles) to SW 95th Street. Go North about one block to library which will be on the right side of the street.

The library has ample parking and opens at 10:00 A.M. but they will let us in at 9:00 AM.  We will be in the meeting room on the right as you enter as we have used in previous years.  The meeting room has a small area with sink, microwave and coffeemaker.  We will provide some sodas, coffee and cookies for attendee's to this meeting.  this will be complements of John and Nancy Wilson and David and Sherry Sklow.  We can have the meeting room until 4:00 PM.  The only requirement is that our meeting be open to the public (all libraries have this policy).  This is a new library in Marion county and the meeting room is very nice.

As has been customary at this meeting, we will go as a group to Sammy’s, a small Italian restaurant a few miles away. The official business meeting will follow lunch.

The March Ocala meeting has traditionally been one of the best meetings of the year. The weather is great and collectors are coming out of hibernation and want to get active after the long cold winter. This is the same location as last year’s March meeting and it was an exceptional meeting as this one promises to be.

If you have never been to a Florida Token Society meeting, this is an opportunity to meet fellow collectors and maybe acquire that token you have been searching for. Our meetings start with an informal mingling of collectors and lots of trading, looking and telling stories of the ones that got away! Usually the group goes to a restaurant for lunch and then returns around 1 PM for the business meeting and program. A show-and-tell is part of the afternoon program, so bring that special token and tell us about it.

Bring items for a donation auction that will be held at the end of the meeting.
